PREGNANCY TEA BENEFITS

What are the benefits of choosing a specific pregnancy tea brand like Mama Tea you might ask? Mama Tea was inspired by our Founder's journey through her pregnancies. Anna Louise found it difficult to find any herbal teas that tasted good and were safe to drink during her pregnancies.

Therefore she worked with a Master Tea Blender and a Medical Herbalist to create a range of pregnancy teas that are both tasty and crucially, safe to drink during pregnancy.

MORNING MAMA - TEA BENEFITS

Our Morning Mama tea was blended specifically to ease the effects of nausea and morning sickness. We used a subtle blend of herbs to create this lovely ginger pregnancy tea.

Ginger - Tea Benefits

Botanical Name: Zingiber officinale

History: Ginger's current name comes from the Middle English gingivere, but ginger dates back over 3,000 years to the Sanskrit srngaveram meaning "horn root" with reference to its appearance. In Greek it was ziggiberis, and in Latin, zinziberi

At an early date it was exported to Ancient Rome from India. It was used extensively by the Romans, but almost disappeared from the pantry when the Roman Empire fell. After the end of the Roman Empire, the Arabs took control of the spice trade from the east. Ginger became quite costly like many other spices. It is mentioned by the Romans, listed in some of the earliest Chinese herbals and regarded in Ayurvedic texts as a universal medicine.

Ginger has a wide range of antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant, and anti-parasitic properties and is a strong pain reliever. However, we have used it in this tea blend because of its excellent properties in relieving nausea, morning sickness and motion sickness. It is safe for pregnant women to use
